Great question. Let me be completely transparent.
A 'real photobooth', in my opinion, is more distraction at an event than fun. It's often setup in a corner, away from the dance floor. Your guests have to stop whatever they're doing to go have their picture taken. You end up having to continually announce and pitch the photobooth, in order to keep people having pictures made. Like I said, just my opinion, it's a major distraction.
What I prefer (and I've done it both ways at events) is to take live action shots, as the fun is going on. More importantly, guests like them better. You get natural expressions captured instead of 'smile for the camera' (fake) fun. You get REAL memories of the party, not to mention people enjoy seeing themselves on-screen having real fun, not just posing for the camera.
Like I said, I've done it both ways. The photobooth concept is a good one, it just has to be put in the proper setting to make it work. |
